Information for donors

The donated biological material will be stored in the biobanks involved on the PBC, who guard it to be provided to researchers for its use in research projects. Prior to use, all projects have been evaluated by the Ethics Committee and the Scientific Committee of the PBC.

It is important you know that the donation is completely voluntary and that, at any time, you can exercise your right to revoke the consent informing the doctor who requested your participation. Revocation will not affect in any way your health care and it will only affect to the samples placed in the biobank at that time. Informed Consent Revocation Form.

Additionally, both the samples and the data transferred to the PBC are under the data protection law. You can exercise your right of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition to the doctor who requested your participation in the biobank, personally at the coordination headquarters Pulmonary Biobank Consortium (Hospital Universitario Son Espases, carretera de Valldemossa 79, Planta -1 módulo I, 07010 Palma de Mallorca, Islas Baleares), or by sending an email to ejercicioderechoslopd@CIBERES.org after being properly identified.

On the other hand, you could be recontacted to request additional biological samples and/or data, if you have not claimed otherwise.
