The Pulmonary Biobank Consortium (PBC) is a nonprofit network structure whose activity is advised by external committees. All PBC activity follows the work standards defined in its Quality Policy.
The PBC aims to facilitate the translational research in the field of Respiratory Diseases and related, with the objective of improving the diagnosis and treatment, providing quality samples and associated clinical data to national and international researchers.
In order to ensure the quality of the samples and the associated data, in each hospital there is a cooperative working group composed of:
- Pulmonologists / Intensivists
- Thoracic Surgeons
- Pathologists
- Local Biobank
